Beneficiaries of the Secours Populaire de Haute-Saône enjoy well-deserved vacations in Alsace
Going on vacation is a joyful experience for everyone, but for some people who are not used to leaving their homes, it means much more. This is the case for 24 retired beneficiaries of the Secours Populaire de Haute-Saône, who had the chance to live an unforgettable week of vacation in Munster, Alsace. Hailing from different parts of the department, some of them had never had the opportunity to enjoy these trips organized by the association.
Busy days for the vacationers
Antonella Costantini, a volunteer and trip organizer, has ensured a varied and attractive program so that the participants can fully enjoy it. “We have planned a day to visit Strasbourg, Colmar, and Riquewihr as well. We will visit a gingerbread factory and participate in a pretzel-making workshop. Lunch in a restaurant is also planned, as well as an afternoon at the swimming pool,” she explains enthusiastically. This stay was partly funded by grants from the national Chèques Vacances agency and the Carsat, as well as donations from individuals.
A moment of relaxation and sharing
For Jean-Pierre, an 82-year-old beneficiary, these vacations mean a lot. A regular at the trips organized by the Secours Populaire, he enjoys reuniting with friends and being able to chat freely. “For a week, I forget my daily problems. I leave all that at home. And then, it must be said, we laugh a lot during these trips. It really feels good,” he shares with a broad smile.
Malika, another 64-year-old beneficiary, is also delighted with this breath of fresh air. “Every noon, I cook for my son and my grandchildren. Here, for a week, I do nothing! I think about myself. I am also happy to get out of my daily routine. Usually, I spend my days in front of the television,” she reveals, her eyes sparkling.
An enriching and revitalizing experience
This stay in Alsace was much more than just a break for the beneficiaries of the Secours Populaire de Haute-Saône. It allowed them to escape from their daily routine and enjoy a moment of relaxation and sharing. These vacations were made possible thanks to the generosity of donors who contributed to giving these people an unforgettable experience.
