The historic heritage of Mollkirch
Steeped in history, Mollkirch reveals itself above all through its historic remains. The main attraction, of course, is the ruins of the Château de Guirbaden, which bear witness to the splendour of Alsatian fortresses in the 11th century. Walking among these remains, you can imagine the lives of the nobles of old while enjoying a breathtaking view over the valley below. The village’s history doesn’t stop there: the Kloesterlé chapel is another site of interest not to be missed, an integral part of the local religious heritage.

Visiting Mollkirch was a rich and memorable experience, a real breath of fresh air. On my first hike up to the Château de Guirbaden, I was struck by the beauty of the landscape: the ruins stood proudly on the ridge while the shimmering colours of nature carried me back in time. Soaking up the history of the place while enjoying a tarte flambée in a little local bistro added to the magic of the trip. The villagers, always welcoming, share stories about their area with infectious pride. Meeting local producers also introduced me to the flavours of the region. Wandering through the lanes, I felt a real connection with this land so full of authenticity. My time in Mollkirch, far from the frenzy of city life, was a restorative adventure combining nature, history and conviviality.
Enzo
Hi, I'm Enzo! I'm the guy who loves lacing up his hiking boots to explore the rugged trails of the Vosges. Passionate about nature and photography, I take you along through articles that capture the scent of fir forests and the charm of mountain lakes. I live for those moments when the sun rises over the Haut-Koenigsbourg or when I stumble upon an authentic inn along the way. My goal? To inspire you to get out, breathe in the fresh Alsatian air, and always have a great spot for a tarte flambée to share at the end of the day.
