Two markets in the heart of the medieval town

The authentic artisan Christmas market

In the Cour de l’Arsenal, some thirty small wooden chalets nestle in a picturesque 17th-century setting at the foot of the castle ruins. Carefully selected artisans display their original creations: wooden toys, ceramic vases, colourful fabric hearts, Advent wreaths, collectible fèves (king cake charms)… There is something for every taste and every budget.

The farmers’ Christmas market

On the Place de la Mairie, the Association Paysans de la Vallée brings together local producers: gingerbread, syrups, honey, cheeses, herbal teas, jams and organic products, to taste on the spot or give as gourmet hampers.

Atmosphere and attractions

The Kaysersberg Christmas market stands out for its exceptional, magical atmosphere. Residents decorate their windows with fir garlands, the town lights up at nightfall, and the scent of cinnamon mingles with the aroma of spiced mulled wine through the lively streets. Visitors will also be charmed by the local handcrafted products, from Christmas decorations to Alsatian culinary specialities, ideal for the holidays.

Alsatian gastronomy

To delight the taste buds, visitors can sample typical Alsatian specialities. The famous bredalas, small Christmas biscuits made with almonds, hazelnuts, aniseed, chocolate or vanilla, sweet or savoury kougelhopfs, beraweckas (dried fruit loaves) and manalas (little brioche men) are must-tries, best enjoyed with a hot chocolate or a mulled wine.

Entertainment and events

The Kaysersberg market is not limited to its stalls: the whole town lives to the rhythm of Advent. As the detailed 2026 programme of events has not yet been published in the official calendar, check the website of the Noël à Kaysersberg association before your visit.

Car parking: a range of options

The parking information below is based on the arrangements of previous editions. Prices and arrangements for 2026 are still to be confirmed with the organiser.

Standard car parks near the town centre

The usual car parks such as Porte Basse, Schweitzer and Place Gouraud give access to the heart of Kaysersberg. The official calendar mentions paid public car parks less than 200 metres from the market.

The Théo Faller car park, located at 20 rue des Tilleuls, as well as the 5e Division Blindée car park in Kientzheim, about 20 minutes’ walk from the market, were also offered in previous editions.

Park-and-ride car parks and shuttles

To avoid congestion, park-and-ride car parks on the outskirts were set up in previous years, with shuttles to the town centre (terminus Place Gouraud):

  • Hinteralspach – Mauffrey (business park)
  • DS Smith factory (77 route de Lapoutroie)
  • Carrefour Contact (63 route de Lapoutroie)

Coach parking: easy access

For groups, a dedicated car park was offered on the Rocade Verte, near rue de l’Erlenbad, a few minutes’ walk from the market. Check the 2026 arrangements before you come.

Motorhomes: where to park during the holidays?

On weekdays: the Erlenbad area

A dedicated motorhome area is available all year round at the Erlenbad, with services such as waste disposal and water supply.

At weekends: a special park-and-ride

In previous editions, during market weekends, the Erlenbad area was reserved for coaches and motorhome owners were directed to the park-and-ride at the football stadium (rue du Geisbourg), equipped with water and waste disposal services, close to the shuttles or a 15-minute walk from the town centre via a path along the Weiss river. Check the 2026 arrangements with the organiser.

The Christmas Shuttles: a practical and friendly solution

To take the stress out of getting around, Christmas Shuttles (Navettes de Noël) have in recent years linked the main markets of the region, on two lines:

  • Line 1: Colmar – Kaysersberg – Riquewihr – Ribeauvillé – Colmar
  • Line 2: Colmar – Ribeauvillé – Riquewihr – Kaysersberg – Colmar

As the 2026 operating dates and fares have not yet been confirmed, check with the tourist office before your visit.

Don’t wait any longer to soak up the Christmas spirit. The Kaysersberg market is the perfect place to gather gift ideas, savour traditional delicacies and spend memorable moments with your loved ones. It is a true invitation to celebrate together the values of sharing and conviviality that make this time of year so special.

Information taken from the official calendar of Alsace Christmas markets, checked on 23 October 2026. Opening hours may change: check the organiser’s website before you travel.

Enzo

Hi, I'm Enzo! I'm the guy who loves lacing up his hiking boots to explore the rugged trails of the Vosges. Passionate about nature and photography, I take you along through articles that capture the scent of fir forests and the charm of mountain lakes. I live for those moments when the sun rises over the Haut-Koenigsbourg or when I stumble upon an authentic inn along the way. My goal? To inspire you to get out, breathe in the fresh Alsatian air, and always have a great spot for a tarte flambée to share at the end of the day.
