Bavaria is on maximum alert concerning these intense rains. This cold drop tends to overflow into Alsace and Franche-Comté on Sunday, causing significant rainfall.

Rainfall totals are expected to be abundant until this Sunday evening: locally, 30 to 50 mm of water may fall within 24 hours, equivalent to 2 to 3 weeks of precipitation between Strasbourg and Besançon. This morning, these precipitations are falling as continuous moderate rain. This afternoon, in an atmosphere that will become very unstable, thunderstorms will take over from the rain: these thunderstorms are expected to be quite active, with a risk of hail to watch out for.
