The Sélestat Christmas Village sets up its chalets on three town-centre squares, at the foot of the Bibliothèque Humaniste (Humanist Library), in the town that claims to be the birthplace of the Christmas tree.

Come and discover the thousand and one scents of the 2026 Christmas Market in Sélestat, where a festive and warm atmosphere awaits you. This charming event is held on three emblematic squares in the town centre: the Place de la Victoire, the Place d’Armes and the Place du Dr Maurice Kubler, at the foot of the Bibliothèque Humaniste. The chalets will be brimming with gift ideas and treats to savour, ideal for soaking up the magic of Christmas. Children can also send their letters to Father Christmas via the letterbox set up at the entrance to the Place d’Armes, from 20 November to 17 December 2026.
Please note that special opening hours apply over the holidays: on 24 December, the market is open from 11:00 to 16:00, and it is closed on 25 December.

2026 dates and opening hours
The Sélestat 2026 Christmas Market is open every day from Friday 20 November to Sunday 27 December 2026, except Christmas Day:
- From 20 November to 23 December: every day, from 11:00
- Thursday 24 December: 11:00 to 16:00
- Friday 25 December: closed
- Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 December: from 11:00
- Father Christmas’s letterbox: from Friday 20 November to Thursday 17 December 2026, at the entrance to the Place d’Armes
Also worth noting: on Saturday 28 November 2026, from 9:00, the Femmes actives toutes générations association holds its own Christmas market at its premises, 5 rue de la Filature (free admission): eco-friendly upcycled sewn items, aprons, pouches, Advent wreaths, greeting cards and recyclable gift wrapping.
