Colmar, the little Venice of Alsace, hosts its Christmas markets from Monday 23 November to Tuesday 29 December 2026. You can wander between the markets on the place des Dominicains, the place de l’Ancienne Douane, the place Jeanne d’Arc, the Koïfhus and the Petite Venise (the children’s market), discover local craftspeople and savour traditional dishes. The surroundings are decorated with twinkling lights, offering an unforgettable visual experience.
The markets are open every day, from 11:00 Monday to Thursday and from 10:00 Friday to Sunday. Access is free. Information: Colmar tourist office, 03 89 20 68 92, noel-colmar.com.

Less well known than Strasbourg or Colmar, the Obernai Christmas Market of Gastronomy and Crafts, from Friday 27 November to Thursday 31 December 2026, invites you to discover local gourmet products in the chalets on the town-centre squares. Don’t forget to taste the Obernai speciality of white mulled wine, around the cauldron of the winegrowers’ guild (Corporation des vignerons).
The market is open from 10:00 to 20:00 Sunday to Thursday and from 10:00 to 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. It closes at 16:00 on 24 and 31 December and is closed on 25 December. Free access. Ribeauvillé: a medieval immersion
For a unique experience, head to Ribeauvillé on the weekends of Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December and Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 December 2026. This medieval Christmas market will plunge you into the atmosphere of yesteryear, where beggars, peasants, dancers and minstrels liven up the lanes. You will have the chance to taste the famous spit-roasted wild boar, washed down with cervoise (medieval ale) or mulled wine.
The market opens from 10:00 on Saturday and Sunday, with free admission, in the heart of the old town. A park-and-ride (€10 per vehicle) is available at Cordon-Schmidt, 22 route de Colmar in Bergheim (exit 20 of the A35), with a free shuttle every 20 minutes, from 9:50 to 20:30 on Saturday and from 9:50 to 19:30 on Sunday.
Information taken from the official calendar of Alsace Christmas markets, checked on 23 October 2026. Opening hours may change: check the organiser’s website before you travel.
Enzo
Hi, I'm Enzo! I'm the guy who loves lacing up his hiking boots to explore the rugged trails of the Vosges. Passionate about nature and photography, I take you along through articles that capture the scent of fir forests and the charm of mountain lakes. I live for those moments when the sun rises over the Haut-Koenigsbourg or when I stumble upon an authentic inn along the way. My goal? To inspire you to get out, breathe in the fresh Alsatian air, and always have a great spot for a tarte flambée to share at the end of the day.
