Flammekueche

It is usually enjoyed cold or warm. The dough is thin and crispy, made from flour, water, salt, and butter.
The flammekueche is traditionally prepared in a wood-fired oven.

  • 250 g of flour
  • 125 ml of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 50 g of butter
  • 1 onion
  • 100 g of smoked bacon
  • 200 ml of cream

  1. Preheat the oven to 210°C.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, water, salt, and butter.
  3. Roll out the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Peel and thinly slice the onion.
  5. Spread the onion on the dough.
  6. Cut the smoked bacon into small cubes and distribute them over the dough.
  7. Cover with cream.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
